Rodo Sofranac

The talk will be delivered by Rodo Sofranac, whose life journey is as captivating as the subjects he speaks on. Born in the small Montenegrin village of Rijeka Crnojevića in what was then Yugoslavia, Sofranac’s family relocated to Austria before ultimately settling in the United States. Fluent in Serbo-Croatian and German, Sofranac’s Montenegrin roots led him to Arizona in 1974. His rich cultural heritage and mastery of languages have fueled his passion for reading, writing, and storytelling. With experience as a teacher, translator, mentor, and community organizer, Sofranac has engaged with individuals across all age groups, from newborns to centenarians, and has spent over three decades in academia. His work, which includes nine children’s books, has garnered acclaim for its engaging and varied storytelling.
